Casselberry, FL asked in Criminal Law for Florida

Q: Do Private Attorney's contract former law enforcement to assist with cases? If so, what would that title be? Thanks!

As a nearly retired Detective, I'm looking for possible contract opportunities. I spent the evening conducting online searches but I don't believe I'm using the proper terminology for my search. I've searched using keywords; consultant and advisor. Any point in the right direction would be helpful, thank you.

A: I don't know if you're only looking into opportunities with criminal defense firms. In the civil sector, there are opportunities with firms and insurance companies as investigators. With law firms, they conduct client intakes, take witness statements, review files, and handle other case-related tasks. With insurance companies, they take witness statements, handle examinations under oath, work with SIU (special investigations), and handle other investigative functions. Good luck
