Los Altos, CA asked in Criminal Law and Federal Crimes for California

Q: Today my friends boarded an unmanned federal boat in a reservoir, without permission. What charges apply? No vandalism.

I shuttled these friends to the boat via my kayak. I am not concerned with the legality of the method of reaching the boat - just the punishment for being on it. My friends, after boarding, did various things such as shake the boat, use the on board microphone, etc. etc. but nothing was vandalized, broken, or otherwise damaged. This happened in the state of California.
