Q: How to contest a lawyer's lien on my house?

A: The time to contest the fees probably expired long before the lien was placed. Your best bet is to call the attorney and negotiate the fee with him or her. Most attorneys will take a lesser fee in order to get the money quicker and the lien can be removed at that point.
