Lewisville, TX asked in Immigration Law for Texas

Q: Is it possible to have a Notice to Appear issued a couple of years ago but not be in removal proceeding if you missed it

I recently went for a i-485 interview for 1-130 application (by my wife) and the officer asked me if i had ever received a notice to appear before and i said no because i never did. She informed me that i had one on file for an application for that my ex wife put in for me about 3 years ago and was denied because we divorced. The weird thing is that i never received the NTA and when i put my alien number in the immigration courts removal number, nothing comes up and i have checked this for the past 3 years, even today. Assuming i missed my court date, shouldnt i be in that system? I have 2 A numbers, one for my F1 OPT and other for AOS and both arent in the deportation number when i put it in. Also, i was granted advance parole and EAD for my current application with no issues. Is it possible USCIS made a mistake or something or issued a notice to appear but never sent it to me since i probably had put in another application with my new wife then?

A: If you were sent an NTA and never responded because you didn't receive it, you might be able to have an experienced immigration attorney re-open the case and adjust your status in removal proceedings so that you can stay. You need to hire an experienced immigration attorney as soon as possible. This will be a long and expensive process.
