Q: Am asking for transfer of ownership of vehicle in divorce.
I am asking for title/ownership transfer in divorce. Right now am waiting for court approval to waive filing fee before process of divorce begins. I do not have in possession the title, only the vehicle. Is my husband able to legally sell this car before divorce is processed and/or finalized?
A: Depends on whether the Court in your county enters a status quo order. I’d keep the vehicle in the garage or locked up when not in use until there’s is a resolution just to be safe.
