Q: Will my license be suspended? What penalties will I likely face?
I moved a couple of months ago and due to the expense of moving ($2700), I let my insurance lapse. I was pulled over last night for a broken headlight - which I fixed today. The police officer let me off with a warning on the headlight but gave me a ticket for no insurance. I can't get insurance until payday (this Friday). Will my license be suspended? My fiance said it would. I go to court in January. I will have insurance when I go to court.
A: Hire a competent attorney now. The law is very tough on this. But there may be no witness/evidence presented, etc.
