Savannah, GA asked in Child Support for Georgia

Q: How can I get my ex to pay court ordered child support now that he is not required through child support services in GA?

My ex husband was ordered to pay child support but disappeared for over 15 years. I was able to locate him in 2017 and went to child support services. They found him and I began to receive payments monthly on a debit card. Monthly payments continued for a short time, until my youngest son graduated High School and then payments stopped. I called to inquire with the CS Services and they said that they do not handle "back child support"?? My ex owes over 100,000.00 of back child support. What can I do? Is there a way to avoid court and court costs?

A: You can hire a private attorney to pursue the arrears.
