Suppose I had access to a secured parking lot that required me to use a fob to open the garage door. I drive in after opening it, but someone behind me sneaks in before the door closes again. I don't realize that happens. The person later commits theft. Would I be liable for the theft? Would the parking lot owners also be liable if they didn't have any security during the theft?
