A: The attorney general's office has 2 different types of child support cases in their system: Full service and registry only. In a registry only case, the attorney general just collects the child support payment at the state disbursement unit and keeps a record of receiving it. A full-service case provides many benefits, such as establishment of paternity and child support orders, enforcement and modification of child support orders, interception of IRS and unemployment payments, automatic income withholding and passport denial.
