Kingston, NY asked in Medical Malpractice for New York

Q: Hello there, I'm writing in regards to a family member of mine who has a medi malpractice case that has been ongoing

Since 2013. There have been many discussions with one of the defendants coming to a settlement, two others decided for trial so the lawyer at the time proceeded to contact his doctor who made the diagnosis to prepare to testify for trial. However, the lawyer was informed by the doctor he could not testify to the whole diagnosis, but only partially, saying that there was a malpractice against the patient being misdiagnose but can't say that the outcome would of been different or prevented. There after the lawyer sought out other doctors but to no avail he decided to withdraw from the case. The judge is only giving her 2 months to find other counsel. My family member was very active worked hard to take care of her kids. She will never be able to go back to that. I'm looking to help my family out or at the least get pointed in the right direction ... where to go from here?

A: I believe I may have answered this question - my response was that seeking consult with med mal attorney could be helpful in making well-informed decision about how to proceed in light of the two month window presented by judge in case. Good luck
