Troutville, VA asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: Do I need to wait to get something in the mail before i send my payment for a speeding ticket to the court?

I was pulled over for speeding and given a ticket. The ticket did not have an amount due for my violations so I called the court and they told me the amount. It is my first ticket and I am paying it because it was out of state and I don’t have time to go to the court 3 hours away from my home. Can I go ahead and send the payment to the court? Or do i wait for something to show up in the mail that lists the amount due? I’m only asking because i know i have seen pictures of others getting tickets in the mail that list the amount due and I was wondering if i should wait on that.

A: The Ticket (Citation) you were given is what you probably need to sign your plea of guilty.

Then send the money amount told to you by the Court Clerk. The Court may or may not send the Violation to the DOS, who may or may not tell your State's Vehicle Office. Good Luck.
