Ennis, TX asked in Family Law for Texas

Q: How will I be able to leave an unmarried, living together, emotionally abusive, and controlling relationship with child

I have lived with my boyfriend for an year and we have our two month old son. In which he doesn’t help out with at all. He doesn’t pay for food, clothes, diapers, etc. He even gets mad when I ask him to help with the baby. He is very controlling doesn’t allow me to stay the night with family, hangout with friends, gets mad when I even want to go see my mother. He doesn’t allow me to work. He tells me if I try to leave he will hurt me, that I will never make it out the house with my son. And that he will be taking custody of him but I haven’t done anything wrong to lose my son. I just want out from under my boyfriend and his parents.

A: You should seek assistance of your family members and hire an attorney to get directions from. Based on your facts I doubt you would lose custody. Good luck. 888-343-4529.
