Elizabethtown, KY asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: Can a vets office give out my personal information about my pet without my permission

With my permission while I was out of town, my daughter had to have my dog euthanized. Before the process was started, a employee of the vet clinic started contacting outside sources, and telling them my daughter was there and what she was doing. A sworn officer was there at the time to assist, due to her inability to do the euthanization on her own. I started receiving text messages about what was happening before my daughter was able to let me know the euthanization was completely done. Due to this, it has caused my family extreme emotional distress. When returning home, I contacted the vets office about the issue and told them we felt our privacy was violated by this employee and clinic, and told them we would be getting our records and seeking a new vet clinic due to this violation. The vet clinic stated that most people whom leave there clinic always come back, and couldn't terminate this employee due to breach of privacy as she is never late to shift. Can I take legal steps vers
