Q: Atm withdrawal Oct 2019 appeared on my account jan 2020. Its now negative. Is it legal to charge insufficient funds fee?
My account had funds at the time of the withdrawal and other transactions from same atm posted the from the same day, before, and after this transaction. They are using my current balance to cover a transaction from october
A: If you withdrew the money from the ATM in October and realized the bank never deducted it, you should have told the bank right away. Your ignoring the windfall and hoping the bank won’t notice is not smart because-as you just found out-the bank’s auditors will find out sooner or later.
