Dallas, TX asked in Criminal Law for Texas

Q: I am 22yrs old and I am charged at the moment(I just posted bail) with deadly discharge of a firearm.

I have never been in any trouble this is my first time and I was having an argument and shot at a truck. The other party didn’t press any charges. What could possibly be done? Still waiting on my court date. Thanks!

A: Hire a criminal defense attorney who takes cases in the same county where the charges are pending. At 22 you might need help from your family to afford a decent attorney. Don't be too proud to ask for help. How this case is resolved will impact your future and your parents should help if they are at all able. You should be prepared to take anger management and forfeit the weapon... maybe go ahead and enroll in anger management now so you can be done or almost done by your first court date.
