Q: Do I have a case - deformation if character? Gf’s ex-boyfriend is lying to his lawyers about me and our relationship

My gf’s ex-boyfriend and father of her 5 year old is asserting to his lawyers via email that he knows I’m abusive and of the abusive nature of our relationship. He has lied several times to his lawyers about my gf in order to defame her and bolster his case for full custody of their child.

Most recently he is asserting that I hit his child causing a bloody nose, when in reality the kid and and I were playing and he was being rough and wound up smacking himself in the face resulting in a minor bloody nose. It wasn’t bad at all and he was laughing and joking a few min later.

His father asserts that he doesn’t believe his kid that it was an accident and because of “knowledge of my abusive relationship“ with his Ex... he is trying to get full custody.

The facts:

She and I don’t have an abusive relationship. And neither of us would ever harm her child. We all have a great relationship.

He‘hostile because she left him for me. He’s also lied in court already about her to gain advantag

A: MORE INFO NEEDED

YOU SHOULD PROBABLY SEND A COPY OF THIS TO HER DIVORCE LAWYER.

IF CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES CONTACTS YOU SHARE WITH THEM.

MAYBE START A DIARY OF ALL THE NEGATIVE THINGS HE IS DOING.....AND IF KIDS ARE HURT, WHAT HAPPENED.

TO SUE FOR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER WOULD BE COSTLY AND POSSIBLY NOT PRODUCTIVE.

I GUESS YOU COULD DO SO IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT. THAT ARGUABLY WOULD LOOK GOOD FOR HER LAWYER. DISCUSS WITH HIM/HER.
