Victorville, CA asked in Criminal Law for California

Q: Maltreatment by deputies of mentally ill and physically sick prisoner on suicide watch. What can I do?

I was arrested and placed on suicide watch and was made to remain on watch for nearly 4 days even though I had answered I was no longer suicidal. Officers denied basics like water and toilet paper, and I was told to drink out of a toilet bowl. I became severely ill with a UTI from the lack of hydration and filthy conditions to which I was never given medical attention for. I repeatedly informed my guards I did not feel well and was ignored every time. Did not have a Nurse properly monitor me until day 4 of my imprisonment. I only saw a psychiatrist once the entire time. Denied phone access, completely isolated and was not allowed to talk to anyone. Would be denied blankets while sick. Was not monitored for nutrition and hydration and failed to eat for the entire duration due to pain from UTI. Aside from active mistreatment, urine was left on cell floors, blood was left on walls, concrete floor was stained with feces of which I was made to sit and sleep on.

A: more info needed.

you are asking this question on a criminal law forum.

it appears you will need a lawyer who sues for injuries......ie a PI lawyer and one who has experience suing governmental entities.

i have heard this same story from many people who have spent time in custody after an arrest...........it is shameful.
