Dallas, TX asked in Criminal Law for Texas

Q: How do I file a complaint on a bailbond company in Texas

My boyfriend used a bail I didn’t company for a cash bond which meant he would have gotten his total amount of cash bond back except for the company’s fee but we have gotten nothing but the runaround for nearly a year now. They tell us one thing and then another. We have even gone as far as getting me his power of attorney because they told us we had to do that. They have lied and lied to us repeatedly. We have continued to dive everything they have asked or told us we had to do and still nothing. It is a company out of Victoria/Edna texas. I need to know who I need to file a complaint to and how to do it. They should not be able to steal and keep our money like this.

A: This isn't really a criminal defense questions but I'm not sure which practice area would be a better fit... I might want to check whether or not there is a "Bail Bond Board" for the county where the bond was posted. However, I also wouldn't be surprised if they don't want to get in the middle of a contract dispute. Good luck!
