Baytown, TX asked in Family Law for Texas

Q: Hello,

I originally was ordered to pay $242 in child support the first of each month. I lost my job and was without a job for about two months. I now have a temporary job that is giving me checks every week, but the child support is not automatically coming out. Before at my old job I was paid bi-weekly and $142 would come out each pay check. I know I have to pay the child support directly through the OAG website but I am not sure how much.

A: Ideally you should pay $242 on the first of each month. You just have to save up that amount.

I would suggest you pay something out of every paycheck so that your payments add up to $242 before months end until you are able to pay the entire $242 on the first of the month.
