Q: Can I obtain free legal aid for my child who was assaulted

Original officers said they can’t do anything because the marks are no longer visible

Hit with a belt in head, back and neck

A: Free legal aid to do what? Id you are going to sue the person who assaulted the child you would need to seek out civil counsel. They would be able to determine whether the case was worth any money or not. If you are looking for aomeone to charge criminally, you can ask the district attorneys office. However, if the officers said there was not enough evidence to charge m, them the District Attorney is unlikely to overrule them.

A: If you suspect the abuse was committed by an adult in charge of your child's care (like a relative), then you can certainly contact your local Children & Youth agency to report it. I see you're posting your question from Philadelphia, so you'd contact the city's Department of Human Services.
