Q: Do I still have to provide health insurance before a dissolution is final?

Going through a dissolution. My wife doesnt work and is trying to draw disability.

Do I have to provide health insurance until the dissolution is final?

Her attorney says that I do and that if not, I will be held solely responsible for all her medical bills.

A: The court usually requires the parties to keep paying whatever bills they have been paying until the dissolution or divorce process is over. To complete a dissolution, both parties must agree to all the terms. If you stop paying, the dissolution could be converted to a divorce, and the court could take other action. You should consult with your own attorney, or retain one if you don't have one, to review all the facts and advise you about the terms she proposes for the dissolution.
