Q: I would like information on Sexual Assault by coercion. I believe I am a victim.
NJ/I entered into a sexual relationship with a man who told me he was a multi-millionaire, provided "proof" with photos and lavish lifestyle, convincing me when we marry that all of that would be mine, I would inherit all his money, that he had businesses, etc. He manipulated me to end my struggling marriage for promises of happiness and no struggles. All of it was a lie. He had no money, he came from nothing he said he did, I lost my house, me and my children were displaced, my finances were affected and he maintained all these stories and lies for over a year. He made up people, he had fake phone conversations with people who didn't exist all to support his deceit. I also found out that he would take naked photos of me while I was sleeping, without my consent or knowledge, posing me in certain positions. I have been completely deceived and betrayed by this man. I would have never gotten involved with someone who had no job, no way to support himself or contribute to the home.
A: There may be possible criminal sexual assault charges based on him taking photos of you while sleeping. But purposefully and willfully engaging in sex because of promises he is telling you alone is unlikely to be criminal sexual assault.
