Nashville, TN asked in Landlord - Tenant for Virginia

Q: I'm considering sueing my landlord and im not sure if i have a case and if i do what all i could use for.

My roommate and I moved in, in November. We currently live in our landlords basement. In the lease agreement it was stated there is a washer and dryer down here that hey said they would use but would give us a notice, and they promised to be quick and thorough if anything were to go wrong or mess up. So we've had alot of issues and the main one being rodents. Had to actually pay for an exterminator. Our landlord called the company several times and cussed them out. Our agreement says we would be notified of anyone were to come down here for any purposes atleast 24 hours in advance and that we could put a lock on the shared entrance. People come in and out of our apartment no notice and they refuse to put a lock on. This is just an outline. Alot has happened and has been said.

A: I regret that a blank fact statement will not allow a response as to your rights to bring a claim against your landlord. Specific details of the facts is essential.
