Q: Can I sue the cops if they rammed at a suspect charged with reckless driving (misdemeanor) and left him paralyzed?
So in a incident, two caps rammed their cars on a suspect which was evading on a light motorcycle charged with misdemeanor of reckless driving. The pursuit was barely lasting 10 min and was in a place with no citizens around. The ramming left the suspect paralyzed.
Is it able to sue the police department for compensation?
A: the exact facts will be important.
had they tried to do anything else to stop him?
i would want to hear from experts on what is the correct way to stop a m/c on a chase.
many jurors would have a hard time finding for him since it was his fault he was being chased.
