A: MORE INFO NEEDED.

IT SOUNDS LIKE 2 SEPARATE MATTERS. ONE IS THE PI LAWSUIT. THE RENT MIGHT BE ALLEGED IN THAT CASE.

RENT IS A CONTRACT DEBT AND IF THE AGREEMENT DOES NOT COVER THIS THEN IT WOULD STILL ARGUABLY BE OWED.

A: This is not a question of rent. You are owed for your pain and suffering, wage loss, and medical expenses, both past and future. The apartment manager, or his insurance, won't pay installments. They will demand that, in exchange for whatever payment is made, you give and and release all the claims that you have. If you waive your claims in exchange for some rent payments, you are being foolish.

You should immediately retain a personal injury attorney and you should stop talking to the manager or his insurer, or the complex's insurer. Talking to a PI attorney about your case is free and some of us will even talk to you, or email with you, over the weekend. You have a potentially very valuable case and you are blowing it by trying to negotiate it for rent.

A: You most likely still owe the rent but they could owe you a lot of money for your injuries. Contact a personal injury lawyer and get a consultation right away.
