Asked in Animal / Dog Law for Louisiana

Q: I puppy showed up at my house, no collar.

I immedialty posted his picture and location on a local Facebook missing animal page. I was contacted by a rescue group who said they had been working with a woman to foster him. They tried to make contact with her, she never responded. I decided to adopt him over a week later. Since then I have vetting, chipped, neutered, and registered him to my name. A month and a half after I adopted him a woman approached me on the street telling me I stole her dog, even though she was working with a rescue for him. We exchanged phone numbers and I still have not heard anything from her. That was over a month ago. What rights do I have?
