Panorama City, CA asked in Criminal Law, Civil Rights and Domestic Violence for California

Q: Would a victim be in trouble if she spoke to the offender's family?

My ex is in custody right now after being charged for an attempted murder and a violation of restraining order. I also reported him for domestic violence after being pushed by a detective.

Prelim is happening in July and I was just wondering if I would be in trouble if I talked to his ex wives and kids before I testify. Not that I'm gonna try to let my ex get away with what he did, but I just wanted to see how his family is dealing with the whole situation and I wanted to ask how he was before he got arrested.

We used to be good friends before and I'm sure they're freaked out of what happened.

I just want a chance to talk about my ex and his situation. We were even engaged... A part of me does miss him and I didn't want to dissappear without clearing things out.
