She is choosing to let her dad and stepmom keep him during this time. Wr are separated. I want him in my care during this time. I will still get him on weekends but I want him full time. What is my right here?

A: If a father and the mother are not married, and if a court has not granted father parental rights, then the mother has sole legal custody and gets to make all decisions regarding the child, and can even exclude father from all contact with the child. Use the Find a Lawyer tab to retain a local family law attorney to advise you about filing for parental rights. If you do that, she is likely to file for child support.
