Naples, FL asked in Divorce for Florida

Q: What is the legal process for filing Exceptions to the magistrate in a divorce hearing?

The magistrate handed down the final judgement but missed a bunch of issues so I filed Exceptions to the ruling. I am a Pro se defendant so I called the courts to ask what to do, I was told write on a paper what you don't agree with, so I did that. I filed the exceptions and the courts said I needed to get the final hearing transcribed, I also did that which cost $1100. I was given a phone hearing and the Judge didn't let me speak about anything at all, but did let opposing council speak, which they used to bad mouth my character. When I asked the Judge to speak he said something about me not filling revisions. When I asked the judge where in the law I needed revisions he would not answer. Florida Law Rule 12.490 says nothing about revisions. It says you file for exceptions you get a hearing, what exactly is a hearing, because no one heard me?

A: It appears that, before spending $1,100 on a transcript, you should have invested a few hundred in a conversation with an attorney.
