Fargo, ND asked in Criminal Law for Minnesota

Q: False Evidence being used,felony domestic abuse,should I contact County Attorney Office ? July 6 2020 hearing

coworker had made false reports to police about a female she dislikes, to ‘get back at her’. Then her husband was arrested Feb ‘20 facing felony strangulation, child endanger, 911 interfere, +more.

For 3+months,she has been calling police making accusations harass, vandalism, trespass, verbal abuse to name a few. She told me she was going to do it,to get her husbands charges reduced, using reports as a reason/excuse as to why her husband ‘lost it’ ,a defense their relationship suffered from being harassed, & claim it is ongoing, she said the attorney used the info.

I thought she was lying and I didn’t believe her. Until I became aware of an employee in a different department who had been being harassed by someone, had taken a LOA. I’ve seen the police reports/dispatch call documentation, names are the same. I don’t know who to give this information to. There is a plea hearing scheduled for July 6, 2020

Please advise.

A: This question doesn’t make a ton of sense. Most attorneys, including me, will provide free consultations. Contact someone directly to discuss the situation.

A: The question as worded is confusing. If a witness has information helpful to the defense, and they want the defense to know about it; they should contact the defense attorney for the person accused. Then that defense attorney may wish to have a defense investigator conduct and interview and get a witness statement. If so, the defense attorney could then provide a copy to the prosecutor. That would typically help the defendant. Otherwise call a defense attorney to discuss.
