Deltona, FL asked in Contracts for Florida

Q: What is the statute reference number I need to add to medical emergency procedures handled at my child’s school?

Here is a copy of the letter I wrote to my child’s school, but I don’t know the statute reference number to add to my signature to make it legal/binding and guaranteed to follow as directed. Will you please advise?

To Whom it May Concern,

Following is a subsequent list of procedures that I hereby give permission to in the event of sudden illness or trauma of my child

1. a) Contact mother at via cellular

b) If unavailable, contact other emergency contacts for further instruction.

2. If mother or any of the other contacts are unavailable, the following list will detail THE ONLY medical treatments consented to:

• Bandages

• Ice Packs

• Tourniquets

• Heimlich and/or CPR

3. Unless stated by an emergency contact, an ambulance shall not be contacted

4. All other actions must have specific consent given by the mother.

A: Adding a citation to a statute won't make it more "binding" than it would be without such citation. But to make sure they follow it, you might ask the school if they have a form they require, and then use that form.
