Q: I got a traffic ticket in 5/22/2020 for speeding contest I never been arrested I have a clean record
My court date is on 8/3/2020 in riverside CA. My question is what's going to happen to me since we are dealing with this pedemic

a speed contest is a misdemeanor, unlike a speeding tix which is an infraction........
how fast was it? driving dangerously? where was it?
if you just want to plead guilty to a non criminal matter you can mail in money or use AAA office.
if speed contest filing, the first appearance is an arraignment. All you do is plead not guilty or guilty.
if you have the money hire a private lawyer asap. Maybe s/he can talk to the DA to get it filed as an infraction and not a misdemeanor (criminal)... or ask the court to appoint a public defender if criminal.
