Monrovia, CA asked in Car Accidents for California

Q: If a neighbor has blocked my car in on a shared easement driveway can I get them towed legally?

The driveway is split in half (6ft is the neighbors, 6 ft is mine) between our properties. There are 2 parking spaces at the end of this driveway. They did this because they are pissed we took their normal parking spot which is our property.

A: If the car is on your property and completely blocking the egress of your car, it can be towed. You should post the "No Parking" signs that have a place to cite the vehicle code (call the PD to get the code number) and the number of the PD that will be towing the car. Sounds like you have lovely neighbors.

A: more info needed.

the issue in my opinion, is not what is legal or not, but how to plan to get along with your neighbor in the future.

don't do something that will create a WAR.

initially, i would talk to him/her civilly.
