Eagle Point, OR asked in Traffic Tickets for California

Q: If a traffic ticket is issued with a court date, but they have no record of it when I show up for court. Is it dismissed

I was written a ticket for 3 violations. 4000(a) 12500(a) 4462(b) on July 22nd. My court date on the ticket is sept. 8th. I showed up but they had no complaint filed. I have been trying to get something in writting stating that info but with no luck. Today I went to the D.A office and they gave me a lettet stating I now have a oct. 20th date and also have to go be booked and released at the sheriffs office 24 hours before my arraignment.?? I live in Oregon, I don't know Ca law but this seems pretty shady if you ask me. Why would itnot be thrown out on sept 8th when i showed up for court and they had no record of it? Now I have to be booked and released? For what? Traffic violations? Can you please give me some legal advice or point me in the direction of an attorney that could get this dismissed quickly? I am in the middle of obtaining a gaming lisence for my job. This matter has put that on hold and my job in jeopardy. Thank you.

A: Having a little problem with your post since all the violations you list have to do with registration or driver's licenses. These are not what you get booked for, it is just a personal appearance citation, and usually these are fix it tickets. When you go to court you should have your license and registration current, and you should be able to get out for $25 per count. Maybe you have an outstanding warrant on some other charge, and this is what the DA is talking about. You might want to hire a traffic ticket attorney to represent you.
