Asked in Contracts

Q: Is a signed contract but that is not complete still legal?

I have signed a contract with a company, however, I have signed the contract but there were parts on the contract that were left black. For example, my name was left blank at the beginning of the contract, but I filled in my passport number, also, the passport name showed my legal name, while what I signed was using my preferred name. I am wondering if this contract is legal. Right now, I have a dispute with the company and they said they are going to take legal procedures, I’m wondering if this contract is valid? Thanks!

A: It could be difficult for an attorney to speculate about the validity of the contract without seeing it and knowing the full context of the matter. Your post does not mention a state, but you could reach out to an attorney in your state to discuss in greater detail. Good luck
