A: IMO the only defense that MIGHT get you off a speeding ticket is if you were in fear of death for yourself or your passenger. Such as you had a pregnant woman giving birth and you were racing to the hospital; or you were being chased by a youth gang who were shooting at the car and you showed the officer the bullet holes at the time he stopped you. The fact you had no license also goes against your credibility. The best avenue to keep this off a driving record is to pay the amount of the fine and choose traffic school, if you are eligible. There is an additional charge for traffic school. You better have a valid driver's license with you at the time of your appearance, and proof of insurance, or you won't get anywhere but the maximum sentence. Your license can be suspended for any speeding violation.
