Austin, TX asked in Domestic Violence for California

Q: My ex girlfriend has a no contact order because of DV against me. I want to get rid of this, can I petition it myself?

I believe her no contact order was for 3 years per the judge. Is there a way I can petition to have the judge remove this order?

A: She can always make the request if SHE wants to remove it

I I tell my clients to wait to see if she will forget about you and not renew it at the end of three years if you are still on probation. Talk with a lawyer in the county where the order is to get specific advice.

A: more info needed........

did you have a lawyer? was DA representing your interests?

you can contact the DA re your desires.

However, this usually happens with husband wife and boyfriend girlfriend situations.

they will worry about lifting it and then something happening to you and their having potential exposure financially.
