Auburndale, FL asked in Real Estate Law for Florida

Q: Can I find a Pro Bono Lawyer for a Real Estate case?

I had purchased a Mobile Home in August 2020. I told the buyer the same day I couldn't go through with the sale . She refused to give back my money. I hired an Attorney asap and he was paid he never served her but says he did. I just found out recently he had his licence Suspended. I'm out 15,600 between the sale and his fee. Just trying to see what I can do . I also found out he is still practicing I've sent emails to the old and new emails no response. She claimed she would resell the Mobile home I sent a message she still has no money to give back. I do not want this mobile home . I can't move in it I was denied to move in it for a bankruptcy. I just have no more money. I borrowed this money from my Profit Sharing and am making payments for 5 yrs . I'm so embarrassed and lost . Thank you for your time.

A: You should file a complaint with the Florida Bar. They can order restitution. Go to their website: Floridabar.org and search for ACAP.

You can try the Polk County Bar Association to see if you can use their pro bono services. Most bar associations have a waiting list.

You might do better to take title to the mobile home and try to sell it or if the park will let you rent it, then rent it. The longer this goes on the less likely you will get your money back from the seller. Unless you have something in writing stating you are entitled to a refund, your right to a refund is questionable.
