Visalia, CA asked in Real Estate Law for California

Q: My landlord is going to evict me on the 1st of February for being friends with another tenant. I don’t know what to do.

I’m so confused and stressed out and only been renting here 3 months. My landlord told me because they were evicting the other tenant who is also my friend that I had to go too. Since day one I have had not one moment of peace. There are 3 of us renting rooms at this private residence. Even before I moved in there was an issue with the 3rd tenant making up lies and telling the landlord as soon as she found out that I was moving in so she could prevent it because she didn’t want to give up the extra room that she was using in addition to the one she was renting. But do to the fact that I had very good reputation with landlord from previous housecleaning work at this location in which was paid for by my landlord she disregarded the information, told her to give up the room, and was eager to have me move in. This 3rd tenant has not stopped since then and now my landlord is so sick of hearing about all of this conflict she’s gonna file eviction on the 1st and my reputation is tarnished.
