Q: how do you know if your marriage is recognized in canada even if you got married in another country and never lived

I came to canada as a single and then went to married my boyfriend in fiji he lives in newzealand and they gave us marriage certificate that we got married there. we never lived together after that because he was living in newzealand and i was living in canada. I never disclose my marriage status to anybody not even immigration because i’m scared that my family will find out and they will not accept me so everywhere my status is still single and never married i don’t know if my marriage is recognized or not we don’t share any property or bank account we just spend seven days when we went there. am i in big trouble? if i change my marriage status or say anything to immigation. when i got my work permit i said i was single now i’m so afraid what should i do my husband wants to apply for express entry pr for canada and wants to claim my adaptability points problem is i never declared i’m married if I declare now is it too late?? how can he claim i’m his wife will immigation will deport me
