Columbus, OH asked in Landlord - Tenant for Ohio

Q: Is it conflict of interest if a landlord works in the same court house that is used to evict a person?

Also the bailiff at the court whispered to me if I come tomorrow to put you out you will have to leave then. He said that's what was meant by the 30 days that he has up to 30 days to come and put me out. I am being bullied?

A: That is not a conflict of interest. A landlord can follow the proper eviction process to evict a tenant, even if the landlord works there. But if the judge was the landlord, the judge would not be able to hear that case.
