Q: When i gave birth a nurse forgot to give us medicine for the baby that is supposed 2 prevent her from being HIV infected

When i gave birth to my baby in 2019 the nurse forgot to give me a medication for the baby to prevent the baby from being infected after few days when i went to the clinic i was told that when they were discharging us we were supposed to get it coz the baby had to drink it right away every morning, so now this is emotionally draining because every year my baby needs to run test to check if she wasn’t infected and i live in fear not knowing what will happen in the end

A: I'm sorry for your ordeal. Your post does not include a geographic region. As a starting point, you could reach out to med mal attorneys in your state. Med mal statutes of limitations and administrative prerequisites to commence a legal action are not uniform across the nation. They are governed by state law and differ from state to state - an attorney would be in a better position to evaluate your matter if the state was known. Good luck
