Asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: I was doing 100 in a 55 mph zone. I got a ticket for reckless speeding, but prior to this I had got another ticket

For speeding. I had my son in the vehicle who is 17. I know what I done was wrong but I really need help. Please give me your best advice. All of this was taken in the state of Tennessee.

A: The only advice is to hire a competent attorney in or near the County you were stopped in. Reckless Speeding is not a crime, so you obviously were charged with something else. The two citations could take your TNDL as you are only allowed 11 points on your MVR for the last year. You may have to string one of the violations out a bit.

A: The best thing for you to do is to hire a traffic ticket/criminal defense lawyer in the geographical area where the ticket was issued. Use Justia's Find a Lawyer tab and search for one----contact a few of them---some may give free, initial consultations and hire the one with whom you are most comfortable-----paying a lawyer now is more economically advantageous than the months of higher premiums you could have for a speeding ticket more than 30 mpg over the limit.
