Q: Can a coach in rec baseball not play a kid because his dad doesn't want to coach? Can they legally make my son ride benc

My son play for a aa major rec baseball team in margate fl and been with the league for about 4 years now! He recently started playing for team Elite, the first game was a disaster due to the other team scoring alot! My son sat bench that first game and I had a talk with the coach asking him why my kid is sitting bench when he clearly have the talent to make plays on the field! He agreed with me,that changes will be made because he see where I was coming from! The following game my son sat bench again! I ask the coach whats makes a kid sit the bench? He responded and said that there are too many kids on the team, so I ask the coaches why don't you'll rotate the players evenly. One of the coaches told me out his mouth that the reason my son sitting the bench because I'm not coaching! My son didn't know what was going on but he ask me dad why I'm not playing and I couldn't answer him! He cried after the game! I spoke with the league president and told him what was going on and told h

A: A sports league such as this is for entertainment of the players and their parents. Courts will not intervene in decisions such as this on the part of coaches and other volunteers. If you don't like it, find another team or league for your son to play with.
