Detroit, MI asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: I am a CDL-A holder. Given a citation in Blount county today. Sheriff says county only and no effect on my license?

The citation is for 65mph in a 45ph zone. I was traveling with traffic and was doing approximately 58mph in a 45mph zone so I'm not denying I was speeding. My issue is that I'm a CDL-A holder and anything over 15mph could potentially put me out of business. Do you agree with the Blount County Sheriff that he issued me a county ordinance/citation that will not effect my TN record or should I pursue legal council?

A: If the Clerk sends the conviction to the State DOS, then it will affect your License. Hire a competent attorney to represent you on this Citation. At worst it will be a Conviction, or it might not go on your MVR. Never just plead guilty and send the Court a Check.
