Q: Can I be forced to sign a lease after I've been renting without one since the property has been sold. Florida

The property containing my unit and 7 others in 4 duplex buildings has been sold. The rent shot up but I guess that's to be expected, the thing is the new owners are demanding that we immediately sign a lease. I and many of the others tenants have been here a long time and no longer have a lease. For myself, I'd rather continue to live here, I'll pay their higher rent, but I don't want to have to sign a lease right now. Because of Covid, things at work are in upheaval and I may have to move if I want to continue my employment. Can they force me to sign a lease if I want to continue to live here?

A: Building on the correct answer your received from Mr. Kaufman: Not only can the new owner "force" you to sign a new lease in you want to stay there; they can evict you on only 30 days notice if you refuse. So sign the lease or start packing.
