Q: I rent month to month my landlord said she’s selling the house and I have 30 days to get out I’ve lived there for eight

A: Time for you to review everything with a local landlord-tenant attorney. Your landlord can terminate your tenancy BUT ONLY after having actually accepted a bid and having the buyer certify that they intend to occupy the dwelling as their primary residence. Then, and only then, the landlord must verify the sale by showing you copies of the sales paperwork and giving you a lawfully worded 90 day written notice (not text, email, etc.) that is lawfully served on you. The fact that she has not followed this procedure may entitle you to recover monetary damages from her, along with your court costs and attorney's fees. IF your dwelling is within the Portland city limit, you may be entitled to additional damages as well. So consider reviewing everything with a local landlord-tenant attorney. Good luck.
