A: Step 1: talk to the lienholder and determine the requirements.

Step 2: meet the lienholder's requirements.

A: I am very sorry for your loss and the passing of your spouse, please accept my condolences for you and your family at this difficult time. You may be able to transfer it with the proper form if you qualify with the tax collector's office/DMV forms that you can usually find online. If you do not qualify, then you will need a Florida Probate Attorney and you will have to file some version of probate in most instances. I would encourage you to check online to see if you qualify to transfer it through the DMV per the rules as a surviving spouse, if you are not sure or do not qualify or need help, then you should speak with a Florida Probate Attorney for further help and guidance.
