Detroit, MI asked in Criminal Law for Colorado

Q: Can I get a case closed by providing the DA info on a high priority cold case?

Me and my fiance have criminal cases open, non violent. He is currently in custody. I was wondering how it works to give the DA information as a trade to having him released and our cases closed. The information I have is on a high priority cold case, they recently offered a high reward for information. I'm not interested in the cash I just want our cases closed and be able to live our lives off paper. I cant give much more info on the cold case but I will say that i am aware of 2 people that have witnessed a confession to a bad bad crime, I would be willing to provide names and I would testify if needed. How do I go about taking to the DA and asking for my request for providing the information I have?

A: No DA will make a promise based on the vague information you are willing to share. You need to have a criminal defense attorney try to negotiate this for you. It may not be possible.
