Amarillo, TX asked in Criminal Law for Texas

Q: My question is fairly long and I can't fit it all in 120 characters. It's going to take a phone call.

I have two outstanding warrants in Colorado that were issued when I was residing in Montana, I did not live in that state, I got picked up in another state with new charges, had

a detainer hearing, fought extradition, then posted bond on both. What kind of legal predicament is the state with the detainer looking at. I know there are special rules of law if you weren't residing where they are accusing you of the crime. Please help

A: If you have warrants in Colorado and another state then you need to talk to an attorney in Colorado and one in that other state... unless all those charges were filed in federal court.

Your location is set to Amarillo, Texas so Justia will only show the question to attorneys licensed in Texas. You should re-post your question with the location set to Colorado so Justia will show it to attorneys from that state.
